Over the past few years Joshua has been on a journey. A journey to bring light and magnitude to the people of America and around the world. Through the eye of his camera lens Joshua hopes to reach those who may be troubled with disabilities or other restrictions that cannot make it to see our country’s natural wonders. Through this journey Joshua takes us to many of Utah’s national parks to display the greatness within. As we look at these photos we look into the past, and discover so many ancient and powerful forces. We see the water that has worked tirelessly to carve and shape our unique landscape. We see trees that are old enough to have seen Dinosaurs walk the earth. And we see how man has made these places his playground to climb, hike, and explore.

During his journey Joshua faced many trials, and learned many valuable lessons. Though modern luxuries were often present Joshua chose to forgo these pleasantries and tuned himself into nature and its ever-present dominance. Because to become a part of nature man must overcome himself, and that is an artwork. As we look upon the works that Joshua tired over we must remember that all of these things may not be here tomorrow. We must learn to preserve and conserve what we are given so that other who comes along behind us will have the option of seeing these magnificent structures of nature.

Joshua’s inspiration for this project came from the EDGE center at SUU through the EDGE project. Joshua decided to take what he loves and use it to inspire and show others what the great outdoors has to offer us. EDGE stands for Education Designed to Give Experience. The EDGE project that is put together by SUU is used to take what interests students and puts it to work. Through this project students are encouraged to take something that interests them and use it to help others or improve the students professional portfolio.
